I have extensive experience in developing virtual and in-person learning experiences and like to employ a variety of tools, including visual presentations, small and large group activities, tailored job aids and other supporting resources. For virtual sessions I enjoy using tools like Mural, Butter and Google Slides to keep content interactive and engaging. I am comfortable in front of all audiences, and have experience engaging a variety of participants, ranging from adolescents, general community members, social service providers, medical providers and C-suite leaders.

See below for an overview of a multi-year learning and development project for an example of my virtual and in=person training and engagement work.

DATA LITERACY AND SYSTEMS SHIFT

A multi-year project I managed involved helping communities across the state of Texas understand their local epidemiological and health outcome data related to HIV and to make strategic planning decisions that are informed by data. This project involved helping providers, clients and other community stakeholders know what data was available, how to interpret their local data and how to use that data to create strategic plans and actionable changes in their systems of care. Materials developed for this project included tailored visualized data reports for each region, visual presentations to accompany the data reports, the development of a new framework and approach to service delivery, and supporting materials to support shifts in service delivery. Some samples of each of these elements are below.

Data Literacy

Stakeholders need to understand how to use and analyze data in order to meet community needs. I developed materials to increase data literacy and access to comprehensive community-friendly data through brief videos and regional data packets.

(videos include - 1: Why Data Matters, 2: Data Sources, 3: HIV Treatment Cascade)

Sample Regional Data Packet: Houston HIV Service Delivery Area

Data Guided Community Engagement

Using unique data visualizations, I developed tailored in-person and virtual presentations, based on community need and audience, to engage participants in exploring relevant data and how to connect that to systems adaptations.

(videos include - Storytelling: 40 Years of HIV, 2018 TX HIV Trends: Retention, 2018 TX HIV Trends: Viral Suppression, Exploring the Continuum of Care for Transgender PLWH)

Sample presentation: Austin

Ready Set PrEP

(presented to the Austin Planning Council and other city leadership.)

Sample presentation: Beaumont HSDA 2018 data deep dive

(presented to community stakeholders and other services providers)

Systems Shift - Status Neutral

Based on work done by the NYC DOH, I led a cross-programmatic team to develop guiding documents for a statewide systems shift toward status neutral, focused on needs and priorities identified by community in Achieving Together: A Plan To End the HIV Epidemic in Texas
